Frequently asked questions

  1. What is AAADM?
AAADM stands for American Association of Automatic Door Manufactures. Many of the Automatic Door Manufactures joined together in 1994 to establish a program to certify ADA door inspectors and to raise public awareness for power-operated doors. What does this mean for you as a consumer? As a trade association, AAADM strives to educate the public and help bring down the number of liability suits against owners of automatic entrances.
  2. How do I perform a daily safety check?
Owners of Automatic Doors may use a video which is posted on the AAADMS website to help train and perform a safety check. By conducting a checklist, owners and managers can ensure their doors are working to the highest standards possible. In many cases it can help prevent hardware issues that may occur. Daily safety checks are highly recommended, but do not take the place of an annual cleaning and service by an AAADMS Certified Technician.
  1. Can weather affect my automatic doors?
Hot and Cold weather can have a significant impact on manual and automatic doors. As the hot and cold weather of the seasons fluctuate, metals like aluminum will expand and contract. This may cause certain conditions around entryways, including automatic doors, to malfunction and need servicing. For more information call our office and we can help explain solutions to each situation.
  2. What about annual inspections?
Automatic doors require an annual inspection performed by an AAADM Certified Technician. We have seen automatic doors last well over 20 years with an annual cleaning and maintenance check. Our technicians complete a full cleaning and inspect for any worn parts that may occur over time. By identifying and replacing worn parts ahead of time, an owner can save hundreds and thousands of dollars.
